When little NJ arrived we had to scramble and get the last minute items we thought we still had ten weeks to purchase. We walked into Babies R Us (BRU) and were bombarded with a variety of bathtubs that seemed far more elaborate than we anticipated needing. But this tub, by Safety 1st ($19.99), seemed ideal - it has nice padding on the bottom and on the back, is inclined, affordable, and can collapse/fold for easy storage! Perfect for my neat-freak husband who needs all things neatly tucked away. At all times. No exceptions.
Great in theory. Not so much in practice. I began HATING bath time. Ever since we were home from the hospital we've had to hold NJ while we're bathing him. One of us holds him for the entire bath, the other does the rub-a-dub-dubbing. I originally assumed it was just because he was so little that it didn't quite fit him, but we were still having to hold on to him at nearly 11lbs. Not to mention the fact that he is getting so big he's actually filling out the tub. I tried buying one of those incline mesh things to see if we could use that to assist, but the tub is too narrow and it doesn't fit. I finally had it about a week or so ago. Frustrated, I bought an old-school normal kiddy tub from Walmart and used the previously mentioned wedge. Perfection. Sometimes we certainly over think things, don't we? In this case it was best to stick with what was tried and true.
